Autumn ambience - how to add cosiness to your interior?

References

Autumn is a remarkable time of year - the days grow shorter, the air cooler and the landscape shimmers in warm shades of gold, brown and red. It is also a time when we increasingly seek respite at home, sheltering ourselves from the capricious weather outside. With the arrival of autumn, our needs change - we want our interiors to become a place of relaxation, warmth and comfort. Here are some tips on how to make your home an autumn sanctuary where you can enjoy a good book and a cup of your favourite tea.

  1. Textiles are key elements of a cosy interior. Soft blankets and woollen throws are perfect for warming up on autumn evenings. It is also worth choosing thicker curtains and carpets with a fleshy weave. An interesting effect can be achieved with layering - several blankets and cushions will create a feeling of warmth while helping to organise a comfortable place to rest.

  2. In autumn, when the days become shorter, light plays a key role in creating a pleasant atmosphere of interiors. Instead of harsh, cold light, it is worth opting for warm and soft light that will set a relaxing mood. Table lamps with lampshades in warm colours, wall lamps with a subtle glow or lanterns with small candles are ideal additions. And don't forget natural light - if you can, it's worth making sure the autumn sun can stream into the room. Sometimes it is enough to gently open the curtains or position the mirrors so that they reflect the light, optically enlarging the space and adding brightness.

  3. Autumn is the perfect season to incorporate nature-inspired decorations into your interior. The changing landscape provides us with countless inspirations to decorate our home. Dried leaves, chestnuts, pumpkins, pine cones or heather are just some of the elements that can become a decorative base for an autumn interior. Scented candles are another way to introduce natural accents. The scents of cinnamon, ginger, vanilla or wood are reminiscent of long evenings spent by the fireplace.

  4. To make your interior cosy in autumn, it is worth rearranging the space and introducing comfortable, soft furniture. An armchair with a soft blanket, a lounger with cushions or pouffes can become the centre of the relaxation zone. The key is to position the furniture in a way that is conducive to relaxation, e.g. close to a window with a view of the garden or the fireplace. A coffee table with decorations, candles or books can further enhance the autumn atmosphere, creating a friendly corner to spend time in.

  5. Colour cannot be missing from our list! October is the perfect time to bring in warm, earthy colours, shades of yellow, brown, burgundy or muted green. We recommend introducing them in the form of accessories, e.g. cushions, blankets, curtains or decorations, but if autumn is your favourite season, it is worth considering solutions that will keep the autumn colours with you for longer! Floors, furniture, table tops or wall coverings that remind you of the cosy season? We say yes!
